Cat Has Two Different Colored Face

Venus, a fine and strikingly beautiful feline, has grabbed many headlines as of late and become the latest Internet cat sensation. That's because this cat has a very unique look to her; Venus, a chimera cat, has what appear to be two different faces with two distinctly different colored eyes on either side. Truly, the cat, whose face on one side is black and completely calico on the other, is something to behold. Venus first made headlines when her photo appeared on the popular social sharing site Reddit about a month ago. From there, the feline quickly rose to recognition after the photo went viral. A newly created Facebook page in mid-August has already garnered over 27,000 likes, as the cat's appearance has piqued the curiosity of the cat-loving masses. 

This feline's odd but beautiful appearance is caused by her unique genetic composition. As a chimera, Venus' genes are composed of two or more different populations of genetically distinct cells that came from her parents. As a result, half of her face is uniformly black, while the other half is uniformly calico. As Venus' owner explained on her Facebook page, "[Venus] little split face looked like a combo of the 2 cats I currently had (and still have)."

Venus’ appearance to have two faces as a chimera is not to be confused with that of a Janus cat, a condition similarly described as “two-faced”. Janus cats suffer from disprosopus, a condition that affects craniofacial development and is usually life-threatening. On the other hand, being a chimera has no effect on an animal’s lifespan.

Venus’ unique nature as a chimera cat is being used to help animals in need; those flocking to see photos of the cat on Facebook are also seeing other items in the feed that are working to promote worthy causes. Taking advantage of those who are interested in seeing the cat, Venus' owner is posting stories and items that are working to help animals, either by highlighting specific causes or highlighting adoptable pets in need of homes.

Miss Arab World 2012 — Nadine Fahad

Nadine Fahad, from Syria, was named as Miss Arab World 2012 in a beauty pageant contest held in Egypt on Sunday. Egypt’s Rovan Yousuf came second and Tunisia’s Nadya Khalifa ranked third in the contest.

After winning the title, Nadine said that she dedicates her title to her country war-torn Syria and her “second home,” Egypt. 

The contest sought to highlight the “ideal Arab girl” that best represents her country based on traditional Arab values of modesty and culture,” according to www.missarabworld.org, the website of the event.

The jury consists of “specialized individuals who represent the Arab world and were invited to Egypt under the supervision of Egypt's tourism ministry.

The contenders, according the website, had to take written and oral exams as part of the competition.

The event, which took place in the Meridian hotel in Upper Cairo, was attended by a number of Arab ambassadors, dignitaries and famed actors. A number of Arab singers, Doli Shahin and Marwa, performed in the event.

Miss Egypt Rufan Yousef won 1st runner up.

Miss Tunisia Nadia Khalifa won 2nd runner up.

Many unexpected things have happened in 2012 and that opened new doors for some while closing the chances of some people. On a whole it is really strange as to why all of them happened in the same year.
Raviteja: Our star commercial hero always had one single hit in a calendar year even though his other ventures tumbled at Box Office. But this time, all this four films including Nippu, Daruvu, Devudu Chesina Manushulu and Sarocharu are big flops. They say that he lost his golden streak and Mass Raju should really work on this.
Nitin: With almost 12 flop films after Rajamouli’s ‘Sye’, young hero Nitin was a disappointed jack until he has seen new hopes with ‘Ishq’. The film is a trendsetting hit for him and he is on a rage now with three movies in hand. Even Telugu industry felt happy as its very own hero got rid of that flop-hero tag.
Shruti Hasan: The super flop of movies like ‘Anaganaga O Dheerudu’, ’3′, ‘Oh My Friend’ and ’7th sense’ have labelled her as Iron-Leg girl. But things got overturned for her with Powerstar’s ‘Gabbar Singh’ becoming the mega blockbuster of year. Shruti became a busy actress in both Tollywood and Bollywood. Charan’s ‘Yevadu’ and Raviteja’s ‘Balupu’ are her upcoming films.
Ileana: From a couple of years, Ileana was tasting only flops and in the form of ‘Julayi’, there came a big relief for her in Tollywood. However, the ravishing beauty felt that she is required only for her body in Telugu films, and tried to show her acting-skills for Bollywood. That’s it, she got huge critical acclaim through ‘Barfi’ and she is a big name in B-town now.
Nayantara: Though she is a proved seductress in Tollywood, her affair with Prabhudeva, exit from film after ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’ are two big things.
