Inox. With tears rolling down their eyes, a couple claps S P Balasubramanyam’s hands outside Screen 1 where he is standing. They tell him that it is in a long time they actually shed tears. Some more people, unable to control their emotions, surround Tanikella Bharani and tell him how much they have been moved by the movie. That says much about the movie. Let’s move on..

Story:
Children of old couple Appalaraju (Balasubramaniam) and Buchchi (Lakshmi) are all well settled in US. However the couple enjoy their life in their village with their only friends being their garden, cow and beautiful surroundings. The film is all about their sweet nothings and petty fights and how they get over them. What happens in their life has to be found out on silver screen.

Performances:
Balasubramaniam and Lakshmi came with stellar performance in their roles. One can not get words to describe their efforts as they not acted but lived in those roles. Balu recently in an interview revealed that one media person asked him whether there was any love affair with Lakshmi in his real life since, their on screen romance was so natural.
Tanikella Bharani’s direction, dialogues and screenplay is commendable. Even though the film revolves around just two characters and all dialogues are in sweet Telugu, never ever for a second one gets bored watching the film. This shows his strength as director. Comedy is also natural. Veenapani’s background score is beautiful.

Final Word:
This film may not be appealing to all sections of audience but midhunam might win many awards and rewards at film festivals. It’s a tribute to viewer’s knowledge, whoever was present for giving grand applause at the end of the movie.

Poonam Pandey Second-Offer For Team India

Among those celebrities who shot to fame with their dirty-acts and stuff, this name stands on the top. Apart from the skills what she is really having, she is known for her ‘gifts’ to cricketers.
Twitter queen and raunchy beauty Poonam Pandey is known for offering ‘nude treat’ to Indian cricket team during the last World Cup tournament. She promised that she will go bare if team India and management permits to do so, but was disappointed that Indian government will never allow doing such stuff. But now she is offering the movie tickets of her upcoming flick ‘Nasha’, if Team Indian wins the ongoing T20 series with England.
We have to see how Dhoni and his men-in-blue will find kick in these offering and will save their face after their dismal performance in the recent test series.

The makers of the Murder 3 have released the First Look Poster of the film, featuring hot hunk Randeep Hooda and the very gorgeous Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead roles. The poster sees a women’s seducing red lips, thorns and blood and a tagline that reads: This Valentine…Love Will Be Murdered.

Directed by Vishesh Bhatt, and produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt, Murder 3 is a sequel to 2011 thriller Murder 2, starring Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandez.

Kamal Hassan begins shooting for Viswaroopam 2

If it is Kamal Haasan, you can expect the most unexpected. The actor-director, who has always surprised his fans and film-buffs, is now silently busy with one such attempt. In association with Bollywood veteran Shekhar Kapur, Kamal is shooting for a sequel of ‘Vishwaroopam’.
It will hit the screens close on the heels of Vishwaroopam’s release,” sources say.Interestingly, Shekhar Kapur has played a crucial role in ‘Vishwaroopam’ too. The film, scripted, directed and produced by Kamal, will see the light of the day on January.
The film revolves around International terrorism, and sources close to Kamal say that it will be highly balanced and there will be no controversies.

Barfi is out of the Oscars Race

Anurag Basu’s ‘Barfi’, chronicling the tender romance of a hearing and speech impaired boy, is out of the Oscars race as the Academy announced the list of nine films will advance to the next round of voting in the Foreign Language Film category for the 85th Academy Awards.
Seventy-one films had originally qualified in the category. Michael Haneke’s ‘Amour’, Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano’s ‘The Intouchables’ are among the shortlisted films.
Barfi saw some exemplary performances by Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Illeana D’Cruz. But the film was mired in controversy soon after its release. Basu was accused of plagiarism after scenes from Barfi were found copied or influenced by several famous films.
The films, listed in alphabetical order by country, are:

Foreign Language Film nominations for 2012 are again being determined in two phases. According to a press release on the Academy website, the Phase I committee, consisting of several hundred Los Angeles-based members, screened the 71 eligible films between mid-October and December 17.
The group’s top six choices, augmented by three additional selections voted by the Academy’s Foreign Language Film Award Executive Committee, constitute the shortlist.
The shortlist will be winnowed down to the five nominees by specially invited committees in New York and Los Angeles, the release said. The 85th Academy Awards nominations will be announced live on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 5:30 am PT in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theatre.

New Delhi: Arbaaz Khan’s directorial debut ‘Dabangg 2′ has opened to mainly positive reviews. The film has done well at the box office on its opening day. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh’s tweet suggests that the film is expected to gain momentum during the weekend, “As per *early estimates* #Dabangg2 Fri seems 20 cr to 21 cr nett. Biggest opener for non-holiday.”
He further says that the film’s first day’s business is not likely to cross Ek Tha Tiger’s collection on the opening day, “#Dabangg2 1st day will be lower than #EkThaTiger 1st day 15 Aug holiday. ETT Day 2 was much lower 14.55 cr, since it was a working day.”
The year 2012 has proved to be a good year for Salman Khan’s film career. He has already given a superhit in the form of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Son of Sardaar’, in which he did a cameo, also became a superhit.
Before the release of ‘Dabangg 2′, trade experts were predicting that the film will achieve good commercial success. It won’t take more than one week to figure out whether the film has proved those experts right or wrong.

Imran, Anushka nominated for Golden Kela Awards

Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma have been nominated in the worst actor and actress category respectively at the fifth edition of the Golden Kela Awards. Golden Kela Awards are the Indian version of Hollywood’s Razzies – Golden Raspberry Awards, popular in the west for awarding the worst of the year in the filmmaking industry.
Imran has been nominated for his acting in ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’, while Anushka for her work in ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’.Others competing in the worst actor (male) category are Ajay Devgn for ‘Son of Sardaar’ and ‘Bol Bachchan’, Sanjay Dutt for ‘Agneepath’, Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan
for ‘Student Of The Year’. Akshay Kumar’s name too figures in this list for ‘Housefull 2′, ‘Rowdy Rathore’, ‘Joker’ and ‘Khiladi 786′.
Apart from Anushka, those nominated for the worst actress trophy are Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty for ‘Cocktail’, Farah Khan for ‘Shirin Farhad Ki Nikal Padi’, Alia Bhatt for ‘Student Of The Year’ and Sonakshi Sinha for all her films this year.Shirish Kunder’s ‘Joker’ will compete in the worst film category along with ‘Housefull 2′, ‘Son Of Sardaar’, ‘Khiladi 786′, ‘Dabangg 2′ and ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’.
The nominees for worst director are Shirish Kunder for ‘Joker’, Arbaaz Khan for ‘Dabangg 2′, Karan Johar for ‘Student Of The Year’, Kabir Khan for ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and Sajid Khan for ‘Housefull 2′.
The numbers nominated in the most irritating song category are ‘Chinta ta chita chita (Rowdy Rathore), ‘Son of sardaar’ (Son of Sardaar), ‘Anarkali disco chali’ (Housefull 2), ‘Disco deewane’ (Student Of The Year) and ‘Hookah bar’ (Khiladi 786).
The nominations of the most atrocious lyrics are ‘Ishq wala love’ (Student of the Year), ‘Halkat jawani’ (Heroine), ‘Bipasha Bipasha’ (Jodi Breakers), ‘Pon pon’ (Son Of Sardaar), ‘Chinta ta chita chita’ (Rowdy Rathore) and ‘Hookah bar’ (Khiladi 786).
The nominees for worst sequel are ‘Dabangg 2′, ‘Housefull 2′, ‘Jannat 2′, ‘Jism 2′, ‘Raaz 3′, ‘Kya Super Kool Hain Hum’, ‘Bhoot Returns’ and ’1920 Evil Returns’.There is another category ‘Why Are You Still Trying? Award, which has Karisma Kapoor, Chandrachur Singh, Aftab Shivdasani, Shiney Ahuja, Prachi Desai and Jackky Bhagnani as nominees.
The awards will be announced in March.

Actress Huma Khan sentenced to Jail for 3 Years

Huma Khan, a 47-year-old actress who had appeared in a string of C grade films during the late 80s and early 90s, has been charged for kidnapping and criminal intimidation and sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment by Additional Sessions Court Judge AR Waghwate.
Her brother Shammiuddin Moinuddin Shaikh, though booked, has been acquitted after he made the court believe that he was impotent. Medical reports , however, prove otherwise.
Khan, a resident of Dahisar, was arrested for the illegal detention of her maid’s daughter. The victim, Shanti Mansingh Vishwakarma, 16, had alleged she had been taken to Pune from June 2007 to February 2008 by the small time actress, and where her brother raped her three times.
A complaint registered by the victim’s mother Reshma Mansingh Vishwakarma at the Mira Road Police Station on February 25, 2008 declares: “Khan and Shaikh had illegally kept the girl and burnt her with cigarettes. Sixty-six injury marks have been found on her body.”
Chief Public Prosecutor RJ Qadri said, “She was arrested after the complaint on charges of rape, attempt to murder, kidnapping and criminal intimidation under Sections 307, 363, 376 read with 114 of the IPC. She was in Kalyan Jail but left on bail later.”
Shanti often used to accompany her mother when she used to work for Khan in the Rashmi Tanna Building in Mira Road. After her film career failed to take off, Khan shifted to Pune to stay near her brother. She took her maid Reshma’s daughter with her saying she will treat Shanti as her own daughter and manage all her expenses.
Hemlata Deshmukh, Additional Public Prosecutor said: “We are not satisfied with the judgement that has been met out to Shammiuddin Shaikh. We will appeal to higher court.”Shanti, after a year of surviving the torture, managed to reach her mother and told her plight. Her mother then took her to the police and doctors who said that the wounds indicate that she had been beaten up and singed with cigarettes on almost all parts of her body, including her tongue.

Voluptuous beauty Kajal Agarwal and dusky beauty Amala Paul are doing opposite to Ram Charan in this mass, action and comedy entertainer. SS Thaman is composing the music of the film. Cherry’s solo song ‘Laila O Laila’ has been leaked on net and his rocking steps in the song shocked many cine folks. Chiranjeevi’s old melody ‘Subhalekha rasukunna’ has also been remixed for this movie.
The song was shot on Cherry and Amala. Ace director VV Vinayak has directed the movie. The movie has been produced by DVV Danayya on Universal Media. The movie is gearing up for release on 9th January, 2013.

The First Look Teaser of Young Rebel Star Prabhas’ upcoming movie ‘Mirchi’ had drawn excellent response from all sections of the audience.The movie will hit the screens on February 7th or 8th and the audio on Jan 5th at Nanakramguda.With this the movie shooting will be complete except some patch work.
