Abhishek Bachchan in Oh My God helmer’s next

After the riveting success of the satirical ‘Oh My God!’, Umesh Shukla will direct his next with Abhishek Bachchan in lead. The project that is expected to go on floors later this year, will be bannered by T-Series under Bhushan Kumar and Varun Bajaj.
Making their first collaboration even more special, producer Bhushan Kumar gifted the script to the star on the occasion of his birthday.
Stated Bhushan Kumar, “We are happy to announce Abhishek Bachchan as the lead of our ambitious next directed by Umesh Shukla and what better day than his birthday to make the announcement. They’ve both had a good year, Abhishek with Bol Bachchan and Umesh with OMG!. My co-producers and I agreed that Abhishek fits the role. We didn’t even think of anyone else.”
While Abhishek has been confirmed as lead in the film that delves into the equation between a man and his son, details of the rest of the starcast are being kept under tight wraps.
Added producer Varun Bajaj, “After “Oh! My God’ we wanted to do a social comedy with Umeshji. This film is based on a father and son relationship. The film is funny as well as emotional. It gives out a message in the end.”
The untitled film will go on floors later this year.

Cameron invites Aamir to 10 Downing Street

The British Prime Minister David Cameron who was in India on a short visit interacted with Aamir Khan at an educational institution in New Delhi.Naturally the two got acquainted. And, one hears that later the same evening, David Cameron invited Aamir to 10 Downing Street, the official residence of the British Prime Minister, when the actor is in London, the next time.
Aamir has accepted the invitation and he and his wife Kiran Rao Khan are expected to visit the PM’s home later this year.When Cameron visited a college in Delhi on Tuesday for a discussion with students, Aamir was the surprise drop-in, as the Indian ambassador for Unicef.
Their arrival in the college was announced by deafening cheers, and Cameron and Aamir walked in surrounded by security, and sat directly between the students — no boring speeches — and got talking to the girls next to them. It was quite a warming sight, two biggies sitting on the benches, talking animatedly like they’d known them for years.
After a few Q&As, they’d move on ahead to another group. Except that, nobody, not even the students, apart from those sitting next to them, could hear what they were discussing! There were no mics used.
The discussion was mostly about the inequality between boys and girls. But why would Cameron, and Aamir, want to limit their audience, is what we’re still puzzling over. When Obama addresses students anywhere, he rolls up his sleeves and is ready for a duel – which everyone can hear.

Shriya’s Pavithra wrapped up except for a song

The entire shooting of Shriya Saran starrer Pavithra has been wrapped up except for a song. Shriya will be seen in a challenging role in this woman-centric film.
Director Janardhana Maharshi is confident of his outcome and he says that despite the movie’s script is bold, it makes the audience think and Shriya’s role will attract the audiences. Actress Shriya Saran says that this is one of the best roles she has essayed in her career.
K.Sadhak Kumar and G.Maheswara Reddy are the producers of the film. The dubbing works have come to an end and re-recording works are in progress. MM Srilekha is the music composer and Suresh Kumar is the director of photography.
Other supporting cast of Pavithra includes Sai Kumar, Ravi Babu, Roja, Brahmanandam, Telangana Sakunthala, Tanikella Bharani et al.

Sonakshi Sinha was my only choice for Himmatwala song

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha will be seen dancing in a retro peppy number, ‘Thank God Its Friday’ in film ‘Himmatwala’ and filmmaker Sajid Khan says that the actress was his first and last choice for the song.
“Sonakshi was my first and last choice for the song. I had decided that if she doesn’t say yes, I’ll drop the song,” he said at the launch of the song held here Friday evening.
Sonakshi has donned two looks in the song. The first one has been inspired from Parveen Babi’s look in ‘Shaan’ and the second one is similar to Sridevi from ‘Chaalbaaz’.
The first outfit has been taken from what Parveen Babi wore in ‘Shaan’, but we have changed it a bit. The next one is from Sridevi’s look in her film ‘Chaalbaaz’,” Sonakshi said.Sonakshi was recently also seen in the song ‘Go Go Govinda’ from the film, ‘Oh My God’. Asked if the actress was planning to become a queen of item songs, she said that the song had to be special for her to be a part of it.
“I like dancing but the song has to be special for me to be a part of it. Even ‘Go Go Govinda’ had something special and so does ‘Thank God Its Friday’,” she said.The actress also added that she didn’t have to put in much preparation for the song.
“I just reached the sets. I did not do any kind of preparation. I have seen these songs before. People say I have the old world charm and I used that,” she said.Directed by Sajid Khan, ‘Himmatwala’ stars Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah and is all set to release on March 29.

Kai Po Che, Zila Ghaziabad good openings at Box Office

This week’s two new Hindi releases like Kai Po Che and Zila Ghaziabad have received a good opening at the Indian Box Office. The Sushant Singh Rajput and Raj Kumar Yadav starrer has a flying start at multiplexes, while the Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi and Vivek Oberoi is holding well in the single screens across the country.
Their business is expected to grow in the evening and night shows. Kai Po Che, which had fantastic pre-release promotion by UTV, is released in 1,000 screens in India today. The movie has registered impressive footfalls at the multiplexes in major cities like Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Delhi-NCR, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Indore, Bhopal, Jaipur and Bangalore.
The film has been successful in impressing youth, who were seen thronging in the morning and matinee shows. It is expected to show a big jump in later shows. Whereas another new release Zila Ghaziabad is also one of the most-hyped movies of 2013 and it has been released in large number of screens across the country.
The movie has opened quite well at single screens in mass belt, while it had a poor opening at the multiplexes. Trade experts feel that the collection of this multi-starrer film will go upwards in the evening and night shows.

Kim Kardashian’s Tight Peplum Pants Are A Questionable Choice

For those keeping tabs on Kim Kardashian’s baby bump (we know you’re out there), you’re in luck: Kim returned to her form-fitting ways today in a tight black top.
For those of you who are big fashion fans, on the other hand, you’re a lot less lucky: Kim’s pants were what we would call “questionable.” The reality star, who’s around four months pregnant, chose a pair of snakeskin skinny pants with a peplum-like ruffle at the waist for a day out in Los Angeles.
Besides looking rather uncomfortable (isn’t the point of being pregnant being able to wear elastic waistbands all the time?), the pants seemed rather unflattering. When you’ve got a growing midsection, Kim, highlighting it with a major ruffle might not be the best style choice.
But as Kim explained recently, all her tight clothes are strategic. “I think because I have big boobs it could make me look heavier if I don’t, like, show off my waist or something, so I just have kind of learned to dress one way only,” she told Du Jour magazine.

Apparently, Vijay becomes the second massappeal hero after Superstar Rajinikanth who has registered his name in the 100crore club. Vijay, the hot hunk of K’town, who is shooting in Mumbai for his upcoming film, Thalaivaa, speaks to us in an exclusive about his new achievement and future films.

ACHIEVING ` 100 CRORE MARK:
It’s heartwarming. I should thank the whole team. Perhaps it was possible because of a change in release pattern and size, the multiplex boom, youth thronging to theatres, huge marketing efforts that have contributed to this new trend.

THE SUPERSTAR THRONE AND `NUMERO UNO’ FACTOR:
I don’t really understand much about numbers, but my distributors kept updating me about the collections at the box office which they said crossed the mark in three weeks itself. Having taken this giant leap, thanks to my fans and A.R. Murugadoss, I will strive for greater heights.

RESPONSIBILITIES RISE:
Post Thuppakki’s huge success, people’s expectations are also massive. It gives me a sense of responsibility to achieve more in the future.

ON THALAIVAA:
`My fans are my thalaivargal’ (says with all modesty) . Well, as misconstrued by many, the film has nothing to do with politics. Neither do I lead any group in it! When you watch the film, you will know the title is justified.
Even as I was in the final leg of Thuppakki, I listened to the script of Vijay’s Thalaivaa. It’s a new genre for both of us. The way he takes his films are very dif ferent and interesting.
Nirav Shah is the biggest plus to the movie. He creates a new mood for each and every scene.
He is simply awesome! The movie is shaping up extremely well. ON

OPTING FOR A DEBUTANT DIRECTOR FOR JILLA:
If you look at my career, you will know that debutant directors had a major part to play in my successes. Rarely, I was fortunate enough to get movies from big filmmakers like Fazil sir, Shankar sir and Murugadoss. It is ultimately the script that really warrants a director. Nesan who directs Jilla also falls under this category .

Bipasha Basu Starrer ‘Shaukeen’ Remake Is Ready To Go On Floors

A few months ago, we reported that actress Bipasha Basu has given her nod to play the lead role in actor turned producer Rohit Roy’s upcoming project, a remake of 1982’s classic film ‘Shaukeen’, which she confirmed saying “It’s turned out to be really fun and contemporary.”
Certainly, Bipasha is enacting the role played by Rati Agnihotri in the original film. However, it took long for the makers to finalize the actors to play the roles of three aged men.
But finally, they have zeroed upon actors Danny Denzogpa, Boman Irani and Rishi Kapoor to reprise the characters essayed by A K Hangal, Utpal Dutt and Ashok Kumar respectively in the original film.
‘Shaukeen’ is now ready to go on floors. Confirming the reports, Rohit said, “I was busy with the film for the last six months and finally the script is ready. We start shooting as soon as the actors give us the dates.”
Meanwhile, Bipasha is right now occupied with films like ‘Aatma’ and ‘Creature’. While ‘Aatma’ is releasing next month, she will start working on ‘Creature’ after its release. So, ‘Shaukeen’ remake will start rolling only after Bipasha is done with the Vikram Bhatt film.

Rakhi Sawant’s ghost avatar: spooky or disgusting?

Mahesh-Sukumar movie shooting in Hyderabad

Prince Mahesh babu and model turned actress Kriti Sanon’s latest film being directed by Sukumara is currently progressing in the outskirts of Hyderabad city since last few days. The unit is canning some important scenes on the lead pair during this schedule. Later, the unit will leave for London to shoot song sequences on the lead pair in the 40day long schedule. According to sources, this film is based on a thriller story prepared by director Sukumar himself.
This film is jointly produced  Ram Achanta, Gopichand Achanta, and Anil Sunkara under 14 Reels Entertainment banner. Devisri Prasad is giving tunes to this movie and Prema Rakshith is choreographer of this film.

As opposed to the swank and chic character played by her in Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’, Priyanka Chopra has gone de-glam for her upcoming movie ‘Gunday’.
The former Miss World was spotted wearing a pale blue sari atop a crowded truck loaded with livestock while shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar’s film in Kolkata.
The romantic film, which is expected to hit theatres by the end of 2013, also stars Arjun Kapoor and Ranvir Singh, who will be playing small time thieves in the movie.
