Upendra’s Topiwala Movie Release Date

Upendra’s forthcoming movie Topiwala which was scheduled to be released this friday, has been postponed to March 15. It is said that the film is likely to undergo the changes said by the censor board, hence the delay in release. The film directed by Srinivas, also stars Bhavana in lead role.
The music of the film was launched recently by the Raj Kumar brothers. It is said that the film would deal about a man who struggled against corruption, which is said to be portrayed by Upendra. The film also marks the big screens of debut of Srinivas after trying his hand in TV.

Siddharth’s NH4 rights sold out

Red Giant Movies has acquired the theatrical rights of Udhayam NH4. Debutant director Manimaran is wielding the megaphone and Siddharth, Ashritha Shetty are playing the main leads. Udhayam Nh4 is wrapping its shooting part and producer Dayanidhi is planning to release this flick in May.
Dayanidhi tweeted, “things just got BIGGER ! very happy to announce that the TN theatrical release of UDHAYAM will be done by @Udhaystalin’s Red Giant MoviesRed Giant Movies has got a great track record in production as well as distribution. They distributed many blockbusters like Ko, The Raise of Dark Knight, Madarasipattinam and Myna.

Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan will once again been seen together not onscreen, but off the screens at the 100 days celebration of Prabhu Solomon’s Vikram Prabhu starrer Kumki produced by Lingusamy. The two super stars were also present at the the audio launch of Kumki a few months back as they have always been close to the Sivaji Ganesan family.
Lingusamy already invited Kamal Haasan and got his nod, it is learnt the Kamal has said it is his duty to attend the family function and also blessed that Vikram Prabhu will become a big star.
The film which hit screens on December 14 in approximately 300 screens was declared a hit. The film’s simple story that revolved around an elephant and the music by D Imman cast a spell on the audience. Cop killed, five others injured in road mishap

One policeman was killed and five others injured in a head on collision of vehicles on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district here today.
Constable Shamsher Singh, posted at Mattan police station in Anantnag, died on the spot when his Maruti vehicle collided head on with a truck at Mihar area in Ramban district, officials said.After the collision, the truck went on to hit a tempo, injuring its five passengers, they said.

Dhanush-Selvaraghavan to team up again

Critically acclaimed director Selvaraghavan and National award winning actor and brother Dhanush will once again join hands, but this time on a different note. The ace director will direct a film for his brother Dhanush’s production house Wunderbar Films while the cast and crew of the film is yet to be finalized.
This film would be Dhanush’s second production after his maiden production venture ‘Ethir Neechal’ starring Sivakarthikeyan and Priya Anand in the lead. Actors Emma Stone and Naomi Watts will be seen together on the big screen in a new dark comedy by Alejandro Gonzalez.
The two leading ladies will star opposite Michael Keaton and Zach Galifianakis respectively. The film is about a man who attempts to stage a Broadway play to revamp his theatre career, reports dailystar.co.uk.
Stone will play Keaton’s daughter in Birdman, while Watts has signed up to portray a demanding diva, fresh out of rehab, who takes the lead in the fictitious play.
The film is set to go on floors in April, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

‘Raghupati Raghav’ song in Satyagraha Film

Filmmaker Prakash Jha, who is shooting his film “Satyagraha”, says he will be using Mahatama Gandhi’s song “Ragupati Raghav Raja Ram” in the film, which will be featured on Amitabh Bachchan, who plays a role inspired by Anna Hazare.
Prakash Jha told IANS: “Yes, we have the song ‘Raghupati Raghav’ in the film. It comes at a very crucial juncture in ‘Satyagraha’, in the life of the character that Amitabh Bachchan is playing.”
Revealing more about the song, a source close to the team further added: “Prakashji is using the iconic ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ song in ‘Satyagraha’. It will be featured on Amitabh Bachchan who plays a role that has been inspired by Anna Hazare.”
“Anna is a Gandhian and ‘Raghupati Raghav’ was one of the most favourite bhajans (songs) of Mahatma Gandhi who even sang the song to his followers during the famous Dandi March,” says a source close to the production.
“Amitabh Bachchan’s character is inspired by Gandhi’s philosophies and it is only fitting that ‘Raghupati Raghav’ song in the film primarily features Amitabh Bachchan along with the cast members of ‘Satyagraha’,” the source added.
Directed by Prakash Jha, “Satyagraha” features Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, Kareena Kapoor and Amrita Rao, among others.

I don’t need a shoulder to cry on: Ram Gopal Varma

The 50-year-old director says he does not need friends. “I am definitely an intense person. I don’t have friends because I don’t feel the need. I am not emotionally dependent on anyone, I don’t need a shoulder to cry on. I live in a delusional work, where I am the superman, and superheroes don’t need anyone,” Varma told PTI in an interview.
The filmmaker also said he does not have time for social gatherings as he is either busy making or watching movies.
“I spend time with people when I am making movies but don’t share an attachment. And also I don’t have time for parties as I am busy watching or making movies,” he added.
Varma is currently working on the sequel of his 1998 cult underworld saga “Satya”. The new movie’s trailer has been released and features Telegu actor Sharwanand. It will be made in two versions Hindi and Tegulu.
“I have completed the movie 50 per cent and I will be producing it as well. It has all newcomers. The film is about a guy who comes to Mumbai in 2013 to reinvent and re-establish a non existent underworld.
“The new ‘Satya’ will be armed with his understanding of the mistakes made by Dawood Ibrahim, Chhota Rajan, Abu Salem, Chhota Shakeel and Arun Gawli,” Varma said.
The original movie starred Telugu actor J D Chakravarthy, Manoj Bajpai, Urmila Matondkar and Shefali Shah. The film is considered a cult because of its gripping storyline, excellent narrative and memorable performances.
When asked why he didn’t rope in big names for this movie, Varma said, “I don’t make movies for stars, they come with a lot of baggage and you have to work according to them. I like to work freely without any interference.”
In his over two decade old career, Varma has directed critically and commercially hit movies like ‘Raat’, ‘Rangeela’, ‘Satya’, ‘Kaun’, ‘Jungle’, ‘Company’, ‘Bhoot’ and ‘Sarkar’.

Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma have emerged as the most wanted celebrities online in India, according to a recent study.
The vivacious Anushka was the most liked and wanted female celebrity online in the months of December 2012 and January 2013, while Salman topped the survey in the male category in a study, conducted by Kwaab.com, an online social cataloguing portal.
The study, based on half a million catalogued images among 50,000-plus users, observed the aspirations of Indians’ favourite idols, gadgets, food and luxury items, said a statement.
There were other findings in the study too – it highlighted the love for cupcakes over traditional Bengali sweets, and how gulab jamun remains an undaunted favourite for Indians.
On the spicier side, south Indian food retained its high demands. On the fashion front, Indians now seem to prefer designer apparel by boutique brands, while traditional Indian wear emerged as the favourite choice.
In terms of travel, Rajasthan has emerged the most liked destination. Kashmir and Goa are the other favourite spots this season.
Among international destinations, London attracted a lot of likes as the favourite shopping place.

Vishnu pairs up with Oviya

Actor Vishnu who was last seen in Neerparavai will soon be seen in his next flick tentatively titled ‘Pattaya Kelappum Pandiya’ along with Oviya. Director SP Rajkumar of ‘Azhagarmalai’ and ‘Sura’ fame is firming up his comeback wit this film.
Other cast and crew related information and the confirmed title for the film will be officially announced soon, following the commencement of its shooting. Vishnu had has informed that he has signed a new film recently and that it will be a full fledged comedy film.

Tamanna to act with Akshay Kumar in ‘masala’ entertainer

Southern actress Tamanna will be seen opposite Akshay Kumar in a ‘masala’ entertainer. Tamanna is making her debut in Bollywood with Sajid Khan’s remake film ‘Himmatwala’.
The film will see her essaying the role that Sridevi did in the original film. Even before her debut Hindi film releases on March 29 2013. Tamannaah has been signed for a film by Tips.
“We have signed Tamannaah for a film with Akshay Kumar. She is a good and beautiful actress. We have seen her work down south and feel she would fit the role,” Ramesh Taurani of Tips told PTI.
The film will be directed by writer duo Sajid-Farhad, known for writing dialogues of ‘Golmaal’ series, ‘Bol Bachchan’ and others.
“It will be a ‘masala’ entertainer film. It will have comedy, action, romance and all,” Taurani said. The shooting for the film will begin from July this year and it will release next year.

Priyanka Chopra is excited about her first item song Babli Badmash Hai in Ekta Kapoor produced Shootout at Wadala. “I did want (to) work with Ekta, and she was very persistent about the song. It was a conscious decision for me not to do an item song after all these years in Bollywood.
“But it was great opportunity as both of us had really wanted to work with each other. So I just decided to go out of my comfort zone,” Priyanka told reporters here. This will be the first time that the actress will be seen doing an item song though her contemporaries like Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif already have such songs to their credit. Priyanka will be seen dancing to the tracks of Babli Badmash Hai in the Sanjay Gupta directed ‘Shootout at Wadala’ which stars John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Tusshar Kapoor, Sonu Sood and Kangna Ranaut in the lead roles.

First wine from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s French vineyard to be sold online

The first wine to be sold from a French vineyard owned by Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will go on offer this week to online buyers with a thirst for celebrity. The first 6,000 bottles of organic “Miraval Rosé 2012″ will be sold on the Internet on Thursday for 105 euros ($140) a case including shipping to addresses in France.
The wine, praised by one wine critic for its “dynamism” and “expressive fruit”, was produced from Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault grapes grown in the scenic Var region of southeastern France on the 40 hectares owned since 2008 by the A-list couple. Pitt and Jolie partnered with the Perrin family of vintners to create and market the 100,000 bottles of rosé wine that will be sold to independent wine stores and restaurants.
Miraval, bearing the name of the couple’s chateau, is expected to follow up on its rosé debut with red and white wine. “With this 2012 rosé, Miraval reveals the extraordinary potential of wines from Provence. This unique terroir naturally expresses itself in the aromatic wine with a round mouthfeel that is full of freshness,” the Perrin family said in a statement. Wine critic Thierry Desseauve described the wine as boasting “energy, dynamism, with persistence and freshness” due to its “expressive fruit”.
The stout bottle, more akin to a Champagne bottle, has a discrete circular black, white and gold label. The only mention of the photogenic couple is on the back: “Bottled by Jolie-Pitt and Perrin.”

Ajay Devgn to star in remake of Telugu movie ‘Dookudu’

Bollywood has recently picked the trend of remakes of South movies. Actors such as Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar have come forward to play the lead in remakes of popular South films.
The recent buzz is that Mahesh Babu’s super hit film,’Dookudu’, will be remade in Bollywood with Ajay Devgn as the hero. At first, Salman Khan had been thought as the hero, but Ajay Devgn has been roped as the final lead for the film.
Prabhudeva, who has successfully remade ‘Pokiri’ and ‘Vikramarkudu’ in Hindi as ‘Wanted’ and ‘Rowdy Rathode’, will direct this film.
Prabhudeva has bagged a very good name in Bollywood with those films.

Puri Jagannadh to direct film for N R Pachisia

Well known South director Puri Jagannadh, who made his Bollywood debut with Big B starrer Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap, has been signed by veteran producer N.R.Pachisia to direct a film for his banner.
While the casting is yet to be finalized, the film will be a remake of one of Puri’s popular Telugu films. Pachisia meanwhile is also producing the remake of the 2005 Malayalam film Rajamanikyam.

Baadshah post production works are progressing at a brisk pace and producer Ganesh Babu has already announced the release date of the film as April 5. Kajal Aggarwal is the heroine in this Parameswara Arts Production movie.
The stylish action entertainer has taken shape in the hands of director Sreenu Vaitla. Thaman composed musical scores is slated for a launch on March 10. Aditya Music has bagged the audio rights of Baadshah.

Bolshoi Ballet dancer detained over acid attack

Russian police detained one of the Bolshoi Ballet’s top dancers on Tuesday over an acid attack that nearly blinded the troupe’s artistic director and exposed fierce backstage rivalries at the famed theatre. Russia’s Interior Ministry said in a statement that Pavel Dmitrichenko, a Bolshoi soloist who is to dance in “Sleeping Beauty” this month, is suspected of plotting the attack that left Sergei Filin, 42, with severe burns after a masked assailant threw a jar of acid in his face.
Police also said they detained a man suspected of carrying out the attack and another thought to have driven him to the crime scene outside Filin’s apartment on January 17. The attack shocked a country used to violent settling of scores, shining the spotlight on infighting at one its top cultural institutions. The involvement of one of its star dancers is likely to deepen the sense of crisis at the Bolshoi.
A police source told the RIA news agency that investigators had evidence Dmitrichenko, who has played the evil villain in Swan Lake and lead in Sergei Prokofiev’s Ivan The Terrible, had ordered the attack but that they were still seeking his motive.Life News, a Russian website with close ties to the police, said the suspected attacker, Yury Zarutsky, and his driver, Andrei Lipatov, were found by tracking cell phone calls made from the crime scene.
The Bolshoi Theatre’s spokeswoman, Katerina Novikova, could not be reached for comment on Dmitrichenko’s detention but said earlier on Tuesday, after a search of his apartment, that she knew of no dispute between him and Filin.She looked irritated and became defensive when addressing the possibility of divisions in the company, saying: “I think the Bolshoi Theatre troupe is waiting for Sergei’s return, and loves him and wishes him a speedy recovery.

HISTORY OF INTRIGUE

Filin was left writhing in agony in the snow for about 20 minutes after the attack. As artistic director of the theatre’s ballet company, he had the power to make or break careers in the fiercely competitive world of ballet.
He said before heading to Germany last month for treatment that is expected to save his sight that he believed he knew who was behind the attack and hinted it might be connected to his work, but refused to give a name.
The daily Izvestia cited a friend of Filin’s as saying that he and Dmitrichenko, who has been with the troupe since 2002, had quarrelled over his management decisions.”The artistic director is entitled to his point of view in determining the repertoire and who dances in what ballet. If Sergei was influenced by all those who wanted to see their friends, loved ones,
acquaintances, wives and girlfriends in one role or another, the Bolshoi would have ceased to exist,” said Grigory Belkin, described by the paper as a close friend of Filin’s.”There were many cases when people tried to bribe him … The conflict with Dmitrichenko was probably in this vein.”
The theatre has been no stranger to intrigue since it was built under Empress Catherine the Great in 1776 and the ballet troupe has gone through five artistic directors since 1995.
In 2003, Bolshoi bosses were heavily criticised for trying to fire ballerina Anastasia Volochkova for being too heavy. In 2011, deputy ballet director Gennady Yanin, then seen as a candidate for the artistic director post, quit after pornographic images of him appeared on the Internet.
The theatre, near Moscow’s Red Square, reopened to great fanfare in 2011 after a six-year, $700-million renovation that restored its tsarist opulence but was criticised for going far over budget.
It has frequently been under fire over its artistic programme since then.Leading Russian cultural figures wrote to President Vladimir Putin last November calling for the dismissal of the Bolshoi’s general manager, Anatoly Iksanov. Among his critics are veteran dancer Nikolai Tsiskaridze, who challenged him for his job.
The Bolshoi dismissed the criticism, saying it failed to take into account the troupe’s latest performances.

The film was supposed to hit the screens in January for Pongal initially but director Meher Ramesh informed that he is postponed the film for the sake of SVSC which also has Venky.
Now, the latest buzz the film has run into huge budget that estimated with over 30 Crores. And the over budget is due to exotic foreign locales shoot and highly stylish action sequences.
Paruchuri Kireeti of A United Movies banner produced the film and Thaman provided the tunes. Shadow film casts Taapsee as the leading lady and Srikanth, Madhurima in prominent roles.

Priyadarshan’s next film to be a thriller

Filmmaker Priyadarshan is working on a thriller film with writer Mushtaq Sheikh, who wrote the screenplay for movies like Ra One and Om Shanti Om. “I am working on another film with Priyadarshan. It has both comedy and thrill elements. It is an original film. I can’t talk much about it. All I can say is it is an exciting thriller,” Mushtaq told PTI.
We have been working on it for quite some time. We always wanted to try a thriller and we feel this is the right time for it. The genre is getting popular and accepted. Actors – we don’t have any actors in mind. We are still working on the film,” he said. The writer, who has been making trips to Chennai for the film, makes it clear that it will be a Hindi film.
Mushtaq and Priyadarshan have also teamed up for Rangrezz which stars Jackky Bhagnani, Priya Anand and Rajpal Yadav in the lead roles. Rangrezz, a Hindi remake of Tamil hit film ‘Naadodigal’, will release on March 21.
