India’s first zombie horror film out on Feb 22

‘Rise Of The Zombie’, India’s first Zombie horror thriller, co-directed by Devaki Singh and Luke Kenny, will release Feb 22 next year.
The film is about Neil Parker (Luke), a passionate wildlife photographer who pays more attention to wildlife than his own life. As a result, his relationship with the real world suffers. His girlfriend, played by Kirti, leaves him and thus begins his journey into darkness.
A production venture of BSI Entertainment and Kenny Media, ‘Rise Of The Zombie’ also has Ashvin Mushran and Benjamin Gilani in the cast
The film is a journey of transformation and origin of a Zombie. Due to unpredictable events and a complex story with unimaginable Zombie mayhem, ‘Rise Of The Zombie’ promises to keep the audiences on the edge of their seats.

Salman Khan will marry after Jodhpur, Mumbai court verdicts

The entire nation have been crazy surrounding superstar Salman Khan’s much-anticipated wedding. Mohan Babu, Sunil to team up for a remake

Veteran actor Mohan Babu and Comedian turned Hero Sunil are likely to team up for the Telugu remake of Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor starrer Welcome, if the latest rumours are to be believed. Welcome, which released back in 2007, was a huge hit in Hindi and as per the latest buzz in Filmnagar, the Telugu version is expected to go on floors in early 2013.
Srivas, who had earlier directed Lakshyam, might direct this remake and Mohan Babu might produce the film himself. In the past, Mohan Babu had acted in Game, which was a remake of Taxi No 9211. This is the first time that Mohan Babu and Sunil are teaming up to play the lead roles in an action comedy. More details about the cast and crew are going to be announced soon.

Filmmaker Arbaaz Khan’s first directorial venture Dabangg 2 has concluded the first weekend with a record breaking collection at the Indian Box Office. Its three day business is bigger than Salman’s previous release Ek Tha Tiger, which had raked in Rs 60.32 crores in three days. The Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer has become the first non-holiday Friday release to cross Rs 50 crore mark at thedomestic collection centres in 2012.

With Salmania soaring the viewers’ craze for the film to the sky high, Dabangg 2, which is a sequel to Salman Khan’s Dabangg, had registered a huge amount of advance ticket booking prior its release. The romantic-action movie, which released in 3500 screens in the country on Friday, opened to an overwhelming response at the domestic Box Office
with its occupancy ranging between 90% and 100% at both single screens and multiplexes across the country on the first day.
Dabangg 2 did a record-breaking collection at the domestic Box Office on the first day and became the biggest non-holiday Friday opener, beating the record of Rowdy Rathore, which had raked in Rs 15.1 crores on its
opening day. Its business was expected to see a big jump on Saturday, but instead of going up, the movie witnessed a dip of 7 to 8% percent in its collection. Its second day collection was far better than that of Ek Tha Tiger. But Dabangg 2 obviously witnessed a massive jump in its collection on Sunday.
The Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer has collected a total of Rs 64.66 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in the first weekend. Its breakup is Rs 21.10 cr on Fri, Rs 19.06 cr on Sat and Rs 24.5 cr on Sun. With this Dabangg 2 has broken three days record of Ek Tha Tiger, which had collected Rs 32.92 cr on Wed, Rs 14.5 cr on Thur, Rs 12.90 cr on
Fri.
However, Salman Khan’s Dabangg was a Blockbuster movie at the Indian BoxOffice and its success had created lot of craze and expectations among the film goers for Dabangg 2. The makers had done massive promotion for
the movie. Although the sequel received mixed reviews from film critics, Salmania drove the viewers crazy towards theatres in its opening weekend. Trade experts say that it is expected to cross Rs 100 crore mark at the Box Office on December 25.

Dabangg 2 first weekend collections

‘Dabangg 2′, the last big release of 2012, seems to cap the year on a profitable note. The Salman Khan-starrer opened with a record-breaking collection of Rs 21.10 crore on the first day and trade pundits predict it will enter the Rs 100-crore club.
Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines told IANS that ‘Dabangg 2′ has opened ‘exceptionally well at the box office on Friday’ and on Saturday ‘collected around Rs.17 crore and is going housefull on Sunday’.
According to him, it is a record breaking opening and that ‘Dabangg 2′ has broken the record of ‘Rowdy Rathore’ that opened with Rs 15.10 crore.
A sequel to Abhinav Kashyap-directed 2010 blockbuster ‘Dabangg’, the part two, said to be made at a budget of Rs 50 crore, marks Arbaaz Khan’s directorial debut and repeated the lead pair of Salman and Sonakshi Sinha, while Prakash Raj replaced Sonu Sood as the villain.
Brijesh Tandon said, “In Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, ‘Dabangg 2′ has collected around Rs 3.40 crore on Friday which was quite expected from Salman’s film. We hope the film gets bigger and better tonight.”
Anand Verma of DT Cinema informed that at their centres it has got a ‘phenomenal response’ despite a slow start on Friday morning and most of the shows have been ‘housefull’.
However, Vinay Choksey of VIP Movies feels that Monday will be crucial to the movie.
He said: “Today (Sunday) the film is going housefull and it should collect around Rs 20 to Rs 23 crore. We are only concerned about the Monday morning collections. We hope there won’t be any dip on Monday.”
In Mumbai, according to Manoj Desai, executive director of G7 multiplex and Maratha Mandir, “‘Dabangg 2′ was housefull at G7 and Maratha Mandir on Friday and Saturday. Even on Sunday the film is going housefull. Now let’s see how the film does on Monday.”
Will ‘Dabangg 2′ break the record of Salman’s earlier release, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, which earned Rs 33 crore on its opening day?
“I don’t think ‘Dabangg 2′ will break the record of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, but the film will certainly cross Rs.100 crore without any doubt. Besides, Tuesday is a (X-Mas) holiday, so the film will collect enough on Christmas.”
Sunil Bansal of Yash Raj Jai Pictures Pvt Ltd said that in Rajasthan, ‘Dabangg 2′ amassed around ‘Rs 1.25 crore on day one. On Saturday, the film collected around Rs 90 lakh”.
Opening in Orissa has been average, according to Jeetu Khandelwal of Movie Pioneers, who informed that ‘the film collected around Rs.30 lakh, but it is going housefull on Sunday’.
“Nobody will ever face any loss with a Salman Khan film. But ‘Ready’ and ‘Bodyguard’ opened with better collection compared to ‘Dabangg 2′,” he added.
Manoj Desai, executive director of G7 multiplex and Maratha Mandir said: “‘Dabangg 2′ was housefull at G7 and Maratha Mandir on Friday and Saturday. Even on Sunday the film is going housefull. Now let’s see how the film does on Monady.”
Made at a budget of Rs 40 crore, ‘Dabangg’ had collected Rs 145 crore.

Ever since producer Bandla Ganesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan and director Harish Shankar have publicly accepted that there are no plans on the anvil to remake ‘dabangg 2,’ none were able to anticipate that Venky is in the line. Although nothing is materialized till now, this could be a wise decision from Daggubati family if they pick up remake rights at a cheaper price because ‘dabangg 2′ has got positive release talk and is all set to create new records at Bollywood Box Office.
