Office Report, Dabangg 2 First Day Collections
Actor Salman Khan and actress Sonakshi Sinha, who are in high spirits, are back with a bang. Their latest outing Dabangg 2, a sequel to their 2010 blockbuster movie Dabangg, has received an overwhelming response at the Indian Box Office. Trade experts say that the Arbaaz Khan directed film will become the biggest opener on a non-holiday Friday at the domestic Box Office. Dabangg 2, which has released in 3,500 screens in India today (December 21), opened to packed houses everywhere in the country.
The movie has registered 100% occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes across North and South India in the morning shows and matinee shows. In many places, some ardent fans of Salman were seen leaving with a big disappointment after they did not get tickets as all the tickets for all the shows on the first were booked in advance.
However, Dabangg 2 may not smash the first day record of Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger, but it will surely be a second biggest opener of all time by beating the record of Agneepath, which has scored Rs 23 crores on its opening day (Republic day holiday). Trade analyst Taran Adrash tweeted, “#RowdyRathore holds record for being biggest opener on a non-holiday Fri [15.1 cr].
#Dabangg2 should be 20 cr +, might even touch 23-25 cr.” We bring you some of the important tweets about the response for Dabangg 2 in various location and these posts are re-tweeted by Taran Adarsh on his Twitter page.
