Actress Katrina Kaif continues to be the most downloaded celebrity among Indians while her song ‘Chikni Chameli’ from movie Agneepath was the most downloaded song of the year. Popular song Kolaveri Di, which triggered 2,10, 000 downloads within 18 days last year, continued to remain most popular.
These and many more interesting facts were released by Bharti Airtel in ‘Airtel Mobitude 2012’, its annual survey that tracks customer preferences, likes and dislikes.
According to a press release from Bharti Airtel, the survey is the first-of-its-kind to capture the ‘mobile attitude’ of 186 million plus customers in the country.
As for the Telugu celebrities, imagery downloads of actor Trisha was 325 per cent higher than the number seen for top five actors put together from Mumbai.
The survey reports that wallpaper downloads witnessed a 300 per cent jump and recorded 75 million downloads. Mobile TV has emerged as India’s new hot favourite with 65 per cent jump in viewership and sports as a category grew with IPL viewership clocking a 74 per cent growth over last year, the survey report said.
The use of MMS has crossed one million mark on Diwali and jumped 145 per cent on the festive day for the first time in the country’s MMS traffic history. The navratri festival topped all events in terms of specialised content downloads traffic, the survey said.
Consumers in India continue to use Internet during late night hours. Maximum consumption of Internet is between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. and according to Airtel mobile Internet usage pattern, customers are preferring social networking, looking at pictures, downloading applications, playing games, listening to music, reading news and watching videos.
Facebook, Google and Yahoo were most accessed websites and Google is most visited website in terms of unique users while Facebook leads all websites with almost ten times page views and data consumption.
