Notorious snatcher arrested

City police have arrested a notorious snatcher and night house burglar and recovered gold chains weighing about 19 tulas worth about Rs six lakhs from his possession. In a release here, police said Bowenpally Police arrested Ushala Yadulu alias Yadi (30), a native of Medak district and resident of Ganesh Nagar, Ibrahimpur, Bijapur, Karnataka State, on Feburary 9 while he was trying to dispose off the gold at Hasmathpet X roads. There were series of snatchings in the limits of the Police Station and bordering Police Stations of Secunderabad and also Cyberabad from July-2012 onwards making the police restless. South Zone DCP C H Srikanth formed a special team consisting of K Srinivasulu, Addl. Inspector, D Narasimham, SI of Police, and crime staff to detect the snatching cases. The Special teams collected clues about the accused by making sincere efforts and arrested him. On interrogation, the accused confessed that he have committed 17 crimes in the police station limits of Bowenpally, Karkana, Humayunnagar, Moghalpura, Vanasthalipuram, Kukatpally, Neredmet, Jeedimetla and Saroornagar Police station of of Cyberabad. The accused was arrested and produced before the XI Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Secunderabad for judicial remand, the release added.
