CNN-IBN has recently conducted a poll in five different categories
(India’s Greatest Actor of all time, India’s Greatest Actress of all
time, India’s Greatest Film of all time, India’s Greatest Director of
all time and India’s Greatest Music Composer of all time) celebrating
100 years of Indian Cinema. The results were out and Telugu Speaking
People have a very good reason to rejoice as Telugus pride NT Rama Rao
was voted as the Greatest Indian Actor of all time.
India’s Greatest Actor of all time: Legendary Telugu actor and former chief minister occupied the top spot by garnering 53 percent of the total votes. While Kamal Haasan stood in second place with 44 percent votes, other stalwarts Kannada Rajkumar and Mohanlal got 1 percent votes, the rest of the actors failed to attract even 1 percent votes.
India’s Greatest Actress of all time: Sridevi sealed the first place with 39 percent of the total votes. Madhuri Dixit and Savithri have occupied the second and third spots with 16 percent and 12 percent votes. Aishwarya Rai, Saroja Devi, Madhubala and Smitha Patil received 8, 6, 4 and 3 percent votes respectively.
India’s Greatest Film of all time: Nayakan (Nayakudu in Telugu) – 42 percent; Sholay – 29 percent, Swayamvaram – 6 percent, Mughal-e-Azam – 5 percent, Pather Panchali – 5 percent.
India’s Greatest Director of all time: Mani Ratnam – 29 percent; K Balachander – 18 percent; Satyajit Ray – 14 percent; Shankar – 9 percent.
India’s Greatest Music Composer: Ilayaraja – 49 percent; AR Rahman – 29 percent; SP Balasubramanyam – 7 percent, RD Burman – 4 percent.
