Director Gautham Menon’s latest venture Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu has got very good opening in America. The Telugu film has done even better collection than its Tamil version Neethaane En Ponvasantham. That’s not all. It has even slowed down the collection of Hindi movies Talaash and Khiladi 786, which had done fantastic business at the USA Box Office in the last week.
Talaash was released in a large number screens in the country on November 29 and has done very good business there. The Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee starrer was still running in 113 screens in its third weekend. The movie has collected $1,68,828, taking its 18-day total to $27,06,375 (Rs 14.80 crores) at the USA Box Office. Khiladi 786, which was released in large number of screens in the country on December 7, has seen a big drop in its collection in its second weekend.
The film, which is being shown in 115 screens, in the third week, has collected $61,563 at the USA Box Office, talking its 11-day total to $3,52,684 (Rs 1.93 crores). Whereas Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu starring Nani and Samantha in leads, was released in just 43 screens in the country on December 14 and has done record breaking business at the USA Box Office in its first weekend. The film has collected $1,80,510 (Rs 98.74 lakhs) in three days. With this, the Telugu movie has topped the collection chart at the USA Box Office.
However, its Tamil version Neethaane En Ponvasantham has also done good business at the USA Box Office in its first weekend, but when compared to Nani-Samantha starrer, its collection is very less. The movie, which was released in 35 screens in the country on December 14, has collected $92,102 (Rs 50.38 lakhs) at the USA Box Office in three days.
