Everybody knows that Ram Charan Tej is making his Bollywood debut
with the remake of Amitabh bachan’s ‘Zanjeer’. ‘Shoot out at Lokhand
wala’ fame Apporva Lakhia is directing while Priyanka Chopra is playing
the love interest of Cherry in this film. Remake films always face the
problems in one way or the other. Now this remake movie is also facing a
serious copy right issue threatening its release.
The script writer of original movie ‘Zanjeer’ Salim Khan has claimed that he and his co-wirter Javed Akthar still hold the copy rights of the actual story and demanded an eye boggling price of 6 crores for its remake rights. He also claimed that the rights were just licensed to the then producer Prakash Mehra and he still holds the actual rights of the script.
He demanded three crores for the Hindi remake rights and another three for Telugu remake rights and a total of 6 crores officially from film’s production house Reliance entertainment. Let’s see how the producers will handle this situation.
