The much-awaited Prabhas-starrer Mirchi has finally released. After Rebel’s failure, Prabhas has his hopes pinning on Mirchi, which is directed by debutante director Koratala Siva. Check the Mirchi movie review highlights to know whether Prabhas is back with a bang at the Tollywood box office.
Mirchi Telugu movie review highlights:
Prabhas’ performance is riveting and is undoubtedly the film’s highlight. His ‘punch’ dialogues and body language in various scenes add to his convincing act.
Although Prabhas’ role is a bit similar to the one he played in Mr Perfect, he has managed to show some variation in his characterization with elan.
The film’s theme is pretty formulaic, juggling as it does between blood-thirsty factionism and a wish to make “bad” people turn “good”. Director Koratala Siva has etched the character by mixing the family formula with action scenes to appease the mass audiences and maintaining Prabhas’ action-hero image too.
Siva has penned an emotional script and has shaped the screenplay with only one intention – to deliver a commercial hit.
The narration is fast and gripping in the first half. The second half takes audiences through a flashback episode where the crux of the story is revealed.
Heavy dose of violence and scenes that drag in the second half might make the film uninteresting
The director draws from his writing experience and has penned some very good one liners.
Dialogues like ‘Cutout choosi konni konni oppukovali dude’, ‘Veelaithe preminchu..maha aithe tirigi premistharu’, ‘katti vaadadam modaledithe…naakantey baaga evvadu vaadaledu’, etc got a rousing applause from the audience.
The action sequences were shot well and the camera angles in fight scenes are brilliant. Prabhas’ dhoti fight before the interval is to watch out for.
Devi Sri Prasad’s trendy music is another asset to the film but the background score could have been better. The re-recording during the build-up scenes are superb Madhi’s beautiful picturisation perfectly captures rural charm.
The audience is left with a sense of dejavu after watching the film since there’s nothing new about it. There are parts of the film, especially the comic scenes; involving Brahmanandam and Prabhas, that are entertaining.
Anushka (Vennela) looks glamorous in the film and Richa (Manasa) is okay in her role.
Well, every family entertainer cannot be different from the other as all of them dish out the same elements of action, romance, sentiments and comedy. Adding to the never ending list is Prabhas’ Mirchi.
